Mary Betsy Howell

Mary (Betsy) Bragg Pike Howell passed away peacefully at her home in Temple, Texas on December 26, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS.  Betsy was born March 17, 1963 in Dallas, TX to the late William and Patsy Bragg.  After graduating from Highland Park High School and Stephen F. Austin University, she followed her passion and embarked on a 30-year career as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, spending most of that time at West Ward Elementary in Killeen ISD.  Betsy’s generous spirit brought light and life to everyone she touched.  Her steadfast faith and positive attitude throughout her illness were an inspiration to all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed.

Betsy is survived by her son Brady Pike of Temple, TX, her mother-in-law Nita Pike of Temple, TX, her brother Robert Bragg of San Antonio, her brother and sister-in-law Chris and Audrey Bragg of Plano, TX, her sister-in-law Kyra Bragg of Leander, TX, her nieces Natalie and Ashley Bragg, and her nephews Brandon and Samuel Bragg.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Pike of Killeen, TX and her parents William and Patsy Bragg.

A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held at 4:00 on January 3, 2017 at the Dossman Funeral Home at 2525 North Main in Belton, Texas.
