Allen King Lowe

Graveside services for Chaplain (LTC) Allen K. Lowe, U.S. Army (Ret.), 80, of Belton, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, with military honors.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

Dr. Lowe died Monday, September 7, 2026, in a Temple hospital.

Dr. Lowe was born March 11, 1946, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of Riley Whitten Lowe and Mildred Lee King Lowe. He married Linda Mahone on March 4, 1967, in Huntington.

He entered the United States Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam. During his enlisted service, he deployed with the 4th Division and also served as a drill sergeant. He later left active military service to pursue his education and prepare for ministry. In 1985, he returned to the Army as a chaplain and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel before retiring in 2006.

He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Linda Lowe; one son, Allen King Lowe II; two daughters, Angela Kristine Ward and Andrea Kaye Parr; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
