Ernest Wallace Franklin,86, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025, in his hometown of Belton, TX. His viewing will be on September 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on September 16, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, also at Dossman Funeral Home. He will then be laid to rest at a burial service that will commence at 11:00 AM the same day at North Belton Cemetery.

Ernest was born on February 10, 1939, to parents Friday Franklin and Annie Lee Wallace Franklin in Temple, TX.

Ernest was known for his warm personality, effortlessly bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Gardening was more than just a hobby for him; it was a passion that allowed him to express his love for the beauty of flowers and the joy they brought into his life. He spent countless hours tending to his garden, nurturing his plants and flowers.

He is survived by his siblings, Harold Franklin(Norma), Vinella Layne, Verlean Beaty, Ora Lee Rhodes; his children, Alice Woodberry (Kenneth), Terance Richardson, Ernestine Franklin, Christopher Franklin(Victoria); his grandchildren, Jetaime Woodberry, Christella Shanks(Carlton), Kenneth Woodberry(Petara),Le-Net James(Rodrick), Natalia Franklin, De’Andre Richardson, De’Leishya Richardson, Krishna Love, Jemiyah Franklin, Jordan Franklin, Jalisjah Franklin, Lie’Ayshia Andrews, Zzz’Mya Goodwin, Anestaisha Goodwin, Angel Goodwin; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Annie Jean “AJ” Franklin, his son, Michael Franklin, and his sister Shirley Baxter.

Ernest Wallace Franklin will be remembered fondly for his gentle spirit, his love of life, and the joy he found in the simple pleasure of gardening and caring for his pets. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

There will be a family dinner following the burial. It will be held at Eli Hall, 9084 Prairie View Rd. Temple, TX.
