Ethel Mae Martinez

Ethel Mae (Olejnik) Martinez, 97, of Kerens and formerly of Temple passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Kerens, Texas.

A funeral service for Mrs. Martinez will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Daren Rich officiating. Burial will be private at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Ethel was born on June 28, 1929, in Oenaville, Texas to Henry and Frances (Pitrucha) Olejnik. She was raised in Oenaville and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1946. Ethel worked for 12 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service in Temple. Mrs. Martinez married Amos E. Martinez on July 28, 1962, and soon after she moved to Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Martinez later moved to Connecticut and later to Virginia before finally moving back to Temple in 1998. 

Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Amos in April of 2026. She is survived by her daughter Maria Lippart and her husband Barry of Kerens, Texas; son Kenneth Martinez and his wife Shelley of North Potomac, Maryland; sister Peggy Lunch, and grandchildren Linnea Lippart, Angelica Birmingham, Loren Martinez, and Francesca Lippart. Also surviving are great grandchildren Wynona and Wilder Birmingham, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
