Graveside services for James Donald Handy, 73, of Temple will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-6 PM Monday, April 24, 2023, at Dossman Funeral Home.

Mr. Handy died April 18, 2023, at a Temple hospital.

Mr. Handy was born March 9, 1950, in Long Beach, California, the son of Donald Elwood Handy and Eileen (James) Handy. He served in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood. He married Cynthia Sue Lucky, in Belton in 1975. They made their home in Whittier, California before moving back to Central Texas in 1979. He worked in communications civil service at Ft. Hood for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Handy of Temple, daughter Amy Dahl of Cedar Park and son Justin James Handy of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Payton, Erin, Ethan, Taylor and Jude.
