Jonette Philpot Albright passed on May 12, 2026, in Temple, TX. There are no services planned at this time. Dossman Funeral Home.

Jonette was born to John and Edith (Morgan) Philpot on July 3, 1952. Born three months premature and weighing just over one pound, her survival was considered remarkable. From the very beginning, Jonette showed the strength and determination that would define her life.

Jonette spent her early years in Odessa before moving to Hughes Springs, where she graduated from high school. Her children were both born while she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, completing that degree at Texas Women’s University. She devoted more than two decades to caring for others as a nurse before going on to earn her master’s degree from Baylor University and spending the next 25 years caring for patients as a Nurse Practitioner.

Faith was at the center of Jonette’s life. The Episcopal Church was her spiritual home wherever life took her. Over the years, she was a devoted member of Holy Trinity by the Lake in Heath, Holy Trinity in Garland, and Christ Church in Temple. Through worship, Bible studies, fellowship, and service, she built lifelong friendships and touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity.

Jonette never met a stranger and rarely sat still for long. She treasured her friendships deeply, whether they began through church, her children’s high school activities, or community groups. From Taco Tuesdays with the Newcomers’ Club to road trips to Broken Bow with lifelong friends, she filled her life with laughter, connection, and love. She was endlessly thoughtful and giving. Even if she didn’t know the family, she volunteered for every Meal Train she heard about. She also enjoyed arriving at a gathering carrying homemade cinnamon rolls or a favorite cobbler. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she made people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Above all else, Jonette loved her family. She cherished her extended family, adored her nieces and nephews, and found great joy in her brother Paul and “baby sister” Betty. But the deepest joy of her life was found in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of her happiest seasons began when she moved to Central Texas so she could live close to both of her children, Angie and Nyle, and spend precious time surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Jonette is survived by her children, Angie (Steven) and Nyle (Michelle), Elizabeth (Rob), and Jill; her grandchildren, Nyle (Samantha), Riley (Lya), Jack (Olivia), Ginger, Will, Andy, Georgia, Kaylin, Robbie, Grace, and Emily; her great- grandchildren, Anastasia and Riley Sue; her brother, Paul (Sheryl), and sister, Betty (Darrell); and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and parents, John Philpot and Edith Barnett.

Jonette will be laid to rest at Christ Episcopal Church in Temple, TX. Service details will be forthcoming through her family and Christ Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church or to your favorite non-profit organization.
