Pamela Ann Abernathy

October 17, 1971 — March 17, 2026

Belton

Pamela “Pam” Ann Abernathy, 54, was peacefully embraced into Heaven on March 17, 2026, surrounded by the family and friends that had always been the heartbeat of her life.

Pam was born on October 17, 1971, at the Wiesbaden Air Base Hospital, Germany, to Hugh and Setsuko Hanlon. She spent her childhood in Schertz, Texas, attended Clemens High School, and later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. Nursing wasn’t merely a career for Pam; it was a calling — a way of pouring compassion into the world one patient, one act of kindness at a time.

In God’s perfect timing, Pam met the love of her life, Stephen. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion. Pam cherished being a mother above all else, finding deep joy in raising her sons, Christopher and Jacob. Her love for them was boundless — a radiant presence that will continue to guide them even though her earthly journey has ended.

Pam is survived by her husband, Stephen; her beloved sons, Christopher and Jacob; her loving mother, Setsuko Hanlon; her sister, Sandra Barta (husband Bryan); and her brother, Hugh Hanlon (wife Sandi). She is also lovingly remembered by her father- and mother-in-law, Larry and Lynda Abernathy; her brother- and sister-in-law, Scott and Rebecca Abernathy; and five cherished nieces and nephews.

Pam lived her faith openly. Long before she became an angel in Heaven, she was one here on earth — lifting spirits, comforting hearts, and pouring out love wherever she went. Her devotion to Jesus Christ helped shape her journey. Through her service with the Bell County Medical Alliance, Altrusa International of Temple, and Bible Study Fellowship International, she gave not only her time but her heart, leaving behind a legacy of compassion stitched into the lives of countless others.

Those who knew Pam will remember her as a joyful laugh in the quiet moments and a steady hand of comfort in times of need. She loved gently, lived generously, and shined brightly. Her kindness was not loud — it was steady and deeply felt by all she met.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm March 28, 2026 at First Methodist Church in Temple, Texas, 102 N 2nd St, Temple, TX 76501.
