Rozanne Emery, born March 11, 1933, in Los Angeles and lovingly adopted by Francis C. and Naomi B. Kleiner, lived a life shaped by service and devotion to family. She spent her early years in Tokyo during the U.S. occupation.

While attending Ursuline College, she met her husband, Calvin Emery, who was attending Army OCS. Married in 1953, their life together took them to Germany, Ft. Hood, and Tehran, where Rozanne taught English to Iranian soldiers. In their second year there, she taught 5th grade at The American School.

Back in Texas, she dedicated a decade to the Ft. Hood thrift shop and led the Waiting Wives Club during Cal’s service in Vietnam. After his retirement, they cofounded Killeen Auto Repair which she helped operate for 8 years.

Rozanne was active in the Longhorn Chapter ABWA earning Woman of the Year in 1986. She loved to cook and share recipes which made her the perfect one to lead the Gourmet Group of the Officers Wives Club for more than 25 years. She also served in every office of the Retired OWC.

She and Cal were active members of the Stillhouse Sailing Club. Additionally, she proudly earned her scuba certification at age 58. Together they developed 140 acres on Stillhouse Lake into “The Escarpment,” a place they enjoyed sharing with others.

After Cal’s sudden passing in 2002, Rozanne continued to find joy in her family. She is also preceded in death by her parents and son Lee Emery.

She is survived by her son Ken (Mia) Emery, daughter Karen (Randy) Hawley of Belton and daughter-in-law Dixi Emery of Haslet, grandchildren Christine Foster, Eric Hawley, Brandon Emery, Blake Emery, Nin Emery, Rachel Braaten and 6 great-grandchildren.
