Vernon Richard Loechel, 50, of Belton, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Belton, Texas.
A memorial service for Vernon will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dossman Funeral Home with Daren Rich officiating.
Vernon was born on March 15, 1976, in Temple, Texas, to Horst Loechel and Dorothea Zimmermann. He was raised in Belton and attended Belton schools, graduating from Belton High School in 1994. Vernon worked for many years with Tru Homes, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his hardworking spirit.
Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Horst Loechel.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothea Zimmermann of Grundau-Lieblos, Germany; stepmother, Lilia Maldonado Loechel of Belton, Texas; Mario Fuentes and wife Michelle Fuentes of McGregor, Texas; and nephew, Reece Pellegrino of McGregor, Texas; brother, Horst Loechel of Belton, Texas; niece Hannah Proctor of Stephenville, Texas; daughters, Kailey Loechel of Waco, Texas, and Kynslee Loechel of Refugio, Texas; Son, Carter Theadman of Wichita Falls, Texas; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Vernon was loved by many and truly never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went. Known for his playful spirit, quick wit, and unforgettable “trash talk,” Vernon was the kind of friend and neighbor everyone cherished having around. Above all else, family meant everything to him. He was an amazing father who loved unconditionally and supported those he cared about with his whole heart. As the baby brother, he was spoiled, deeply loved, and always there when family needed him.
Vernon’s kindness, laughter, loyalty, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
